How a fixed price install works
You send photos, we send a price, and that price is what you pay. The price is worked out from the photographs, not from a visit.
The four steps
- Send three photos and a few details. Your water meter and the pipe coming off it, where you would like the filter to go, and under your kitchen sink. Two minutes on your phone through the form.
- Your fixed price comes back the same day by SMS, during business hours, with the terms by email. Anything your photos show you need is already in that number.
- You pay a 50% supply deposit if you want to go ahead. Your system is ordered for your house. Your install date is locked in once the stock is in hand, not before, so a supplier delay never moves a date you have already been given.
- A licensed plumber installs it. The balance is invoiced with your install date and is due on or before the day. A plumbing compliance certificate is issued for the work.
Why photos instead of a visit
A whole-house filter goes on the main line, usually within 1.5 metres of the water meter. Almost everything that decides the price is visible in a photograph: where the meter is, what the pipe is, what the wall is, how far the run is.
Sending someone to stand in your driveway to look at it costs money, and that cost ends up in the price. It also means you cannot find out what something costs without booking an appointment, which is how most of this market works.
Three photos answers the same questions for free.
What the fixed price is based on, and what happens if your house is different
Your price is based on the photos you send. If the site turns out to be materially different from those photos, you are told before any work starts, and you can cancel for a full refund of everything you have paid. Nothing is repriced while a plumber is standing in your house.
There is one thing a photograph cannot show, and we say so rather than hiding it. Water pressure has to be tested on the day. If your mains pressure is over 500 kPa, a pressure reducing valve is required at $350. That figure is named in your quote before you pay anything, so it is a disclosed contingency rather than a surprise.
Nothing else is added on site. The person installing your system does not quote, vary, discount or negotiate price, because that is not their job.

| Who issues the compliance certificate | The licensed plumber who does the work, as the law requires |

On the day
Your water is off for part of the install. Fresh Tap is usually two to three hours, and a drinking water filter or a UV steriliser adds to that.
Your plumber arrives in the window you were given, tests your pressure, fits the system, commissions it, flushes it and shows you how to change a cartridge. A plumbing compliance certificate is issued for the work and lodged as required. A label goes on the housing with your install date and the date your cartridges are due.
